Expert tennis predictions  for Rafael Nadal vs. Alexander Zverev
The final of the Masters 1000 - Internazionali BNL d'Italia tournament opposes Rafael Nadal and Alexander Zverev. The 21-year-old German will try to win a third consecutive clay title this season, but he has no success against Nadal until he has lost all four matches with the Spaniard.
Rafael Nadal qualified for the final in Rome after defeating Novak Djokovic with 7-6, 6-3. Before that, world number 2 beat the Italian Fabio Fognini with 4-6, 6-1, 6-2. In his first two Matches in the tournament, Nadal had a 2: 0 set over Denis Shapovalov and Damir Dzumhur. Overall, the Spaniard is very convincing in his performance in the tournament and is a favorite of the title. He has two wins in two games against his upcoming clay opponent, one of the successes being a 3: 0 set in April for the Davis Cup. Nadal has only one loss of clay this season and it was from Dominic Thiem, who beat him by 7-5, 6-3 in Madrid. So far in the last two seasons, Rafael Nadal has two defeats on this floor, both of which are from Thiem.
Alexander Zverev defeated Dominic Thiem 6-4, 6-4 in the Madrid final last week so the German is expected to defeat Rafael Nadal in the Sunday final. Here at the Rome tournament, Alexander Zverev fought a strong battle against Marin Cilic at the 1/2-finals. The 21-year-old tennis player beat the more experienced Croatian with 7-6, 7-5. Before that, Zverev recorded another tough success after defeating David Goffin with a 2: 1 set at the 1/4-finals. In his first two matches in the tournament, Alexander Zverev dealt with Kyle Edmund and Matteo Berrettini by not losing a set in those matches.
Alexander Zverev won the tournaments in Munich and Madrid in recent weeks. He will be pretty confident about the clash with Nadal after being in a series of 14 consecutive wins on the court. Despite these good German results, however, I expect Rafael Nadal to win his third season title by being able to even beat his opponent with a 2: 0 set.
